Wow. I didn't score so strongly as Wesleyan before. Interesting. How can you be Charismatic, Emergent/Postmodern, Reformed Evangelical, & a classical Liberal? I'm happy that I'm so strongly spread across though. I'm finding increasingly that I am able to agree with someone on some points and disagree on many other points. It doesn't have to be winner takes all.

You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan. You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

What is holiness? What does it mean to be holy? (Yes, dear reader...asking for a response. I realized after China that this blog isn't just for me to spew...but in some ways it is a community. I want to write and be affirmed or told that I'm out of my mind. I write because I want to share what I'm thinking about, and I'm curious to what others have to say about that. Hum. That is a huge departure from how I used to see this blog.)

  1. lol! hey benson! i`m in japan right now.. .and i don`t have much time.. ... and i know you already know this... and maybe i`ll expand on this later... but holiness... is Jesus.....
the world sees holiness as rules and religion... but true holiness can`t be bound by religion... it goes back to the whole wine skin parable that Jesus was talking about.. ...

i hope your life is slowly filled with direction post-china!!!

  2. Man, whom do I know who isn't Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan? I need to make different friends. You're right about the community part. Comments add a wonderful dimension to blogging which makes it richer. We all like feedback, especially affirmation.

Just an informational tidbit. I've always seen you as a person with whom I probably would've had good discussions. But we never really got the chance, because of the circumstances. It's all good though.
